BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Patrick bike commutes from West Seattle to Starbucks where he is responsible for energy and renewables. Patrick accelerates change by planning, embedding and implementing sustainability strategies across organizations. Prior to Starbucks he worked for T-Mobile and spent 10 years consulting on sustainability and energy management programs in the US and UK. He holds an MS in Energy Management from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, England.
When she isn't skiing, hiking or traveling, Emily serves as the Associate Director of the Northwest Association of Independent schools. Her responsibilities include developing programming for Administrators, Staff and Educators. Prior to her current role, she worked for 5 years in program development of environmental and outdoor education programs. She holds an MBA in Sustainable Business and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon, as well as a BA in Environmental Science and Anthropology from Bryn Mawr College.
SHARON A. RIVERA, Ph.D.
Dr. Sharon Rivera earned her B.S. in chemistry from SUNY Purchase College in NY in 2003 and her Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Syracuse University in 2008. Sharon is currently the Director of the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program at Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington. An advocate for diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and access in science and education, Sharon is a member of the WA STEM Policy committee and works with the Graduate Tacoma STEAM Network.
Caroline is a former journalist who covered business, politics, and technology and now works in advertising. You can find her work in the Puget Sound Business Journal, Northwest Asian Weekly, International Examiner, Seattleite.com, and The Standard (Hong Kong). Currently, she is head of marketing at Northeastern University — Seattle. The South Lake Union campus offers industry-aligned graduate degrees and bootcamps. She holds a BS in journalism and political science from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Jeff is a small business and startup specialist with experience in operations and marketing. He enjoys collaborating with entrepreneurs to solve their most difficult problems. He has experience leading teams and companies in the music, luxury, hospitality, and advertising industries. He is dedicated to leaving world in better shape than he found it in by working with, learning from, and elevating forward thinking, socially responsible companies and organizations. He holds a BA in English from Western Washington University.
