Attention High Point Community Youth!!!

It’s that time of year again. That is the start of our “SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM”. The staff at SafeFutures Youth Center is excited to open up 20 summer jobs for our youth in the community. We are excited to be able to provide this opportunity as we realize the lack of summer programs for youth during COVID-19. SafeFutures does not only want to help and prepare our youth for employment but also offer employment as well.

During SafeFutures Youth Employment Program, students will learn about the community. Not just how the community is run and operated but how they, as youth and young adults, can contribute in making their own communities great. Each day students will learn various life skills through workshops, and activities that will help them in early adulthood and prepare them for the upcoming school year. Following state and local guidelines, this internship will include online and in-person activities, meetings, and tasks.

Summer Youth Employment Program Information

  • Dates: July 5th – August 11th (6 weeks)

  • Days: Monday-Thursday

  • Time: 12:00pm-6:00pm (work schedule may be subject to change)

  • Stipend of $1000 upon successful completion

Eligibility Requirements

  • Youths grade: Entering 9th graders (Fall of 2023 to graduated seniors (Class of 2023)

  • Must be a resident (name on the lease) in housing subsidized by Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) ONLY...

  • Must have internet and computer access (with webcam) at home.

  • If selected, must provide a copy of your social security card, complete a W-9 form, and sign the

    SFYC Services Agreement and Release Form, also if you’re selected you have (2) business days to accept this position if not I will move to the next person.

 

Program Requirements

  • Must be able to show up every day. (1 personal day allowed. Unapproved absence may

    result in loss of internship)

  • Must fully commit to the schedule and show up ON TIME.

  • Be willing to LEARN and EXPLORE NEW THINGS. (participation in all activities are required)

  • Must be able to participate in an in person orientation on June 29th, 2023 at 4pm - 5:30pm with at least one parent.
