Help Us!

Volunteer or Intern

Contribute to the SFYC mission as a volunteer or intern!

We are always looking for volunteers and interns to support our After School Education Program (ASEP) for teenagers and our After School Program for 6-12 year olds. Volunteers in these programs will have a chance to:

Build relationships with moderate to high-risk youth
Tutor youth and help monitor their academic progress
Develop and administer educational enrichment activities
Engage youth in positive discussions to promote their self-awareness, cultural

   identity, and community values
Assist staff in identifying youth who would benefit from additional SFYC

   services

Volunteers or interns may also choose to assist one of the weekly leadership development, academic, or gender-specific programs listed in Programs.

If you are interested in more organizational work or are unavailable during normal after-school hours, volunteers and interns may also help in the following ways:

Assist with administrative duties
Enter data for attendance and reporting purposes

Finally, we are always looking for new ideas! If you have an ongoing or one-time service project that could involve SFYC youth, please let us know.

If you would like to volunteer or complete your internship with us, please contact:
Marcus Stubblefield, Program Manager, at marcus@sfyc.net or (206) 938-9602 ext. 107
